The Polytechnic was established 50 years ago, at South Extension. To later move in the early 1980s - to the present, spacious & leafy green campus at Lajpat Nagar. It has now grown to be the largest, in the Country.
It is run under the aegis of the Vocational Education Society . Vocational training here, is for Professional Careers leading to employment or jobs.
